This website is an opportunity for you to see the stunning house, with recently installed doors and windows which are double glazed and separate two storey barn we are offering for sale in the Dordogne Valley, in the village of Brivezac.
A relaxing and tranquille setting this is a haven away from any rat race.
The house is set in approximately 4600 sq. metres of land which includes the banks of the Dordogne River.
The village is small but only 7k from Beaulieu~ sur~Dordogne and 14k from Argentat in the other direction.
We have lived here for just over 6 years and extensively renovated the property.
The house comprises:
Lower ground floor: Enormous Kitchen and Snug; Laundry Room; Rear Porch.
Ground Floor: Large Sitting room with access to covered terrace; 2 bedrooms; Bathroom; downstairs lavatory; entrance porch.
First Floor: two large bedrooms with ensuite facilities. Master bedroom also includes walk in wardrobe, a must for storage of shoes!
We are offering the property for sale privately at a reduced price of €220,000. It is also marketed with local agents, but their price is around €230,000. I will blog on the use of agents and hope you enjoy reading the pros and cons of buying through an agent.
We love this house and do not wish to leave it, but we have strong pulls to move to Normandy to be nearer our children and grand~children who are living on the south coast of England.. and of course, family comes first.

After nearly 10 years in the Poitou Charentes, we are shortly relocating to the south Correze, and will be wanting a small bank of properties to offer in depts 19 & 46. Would you be interested in me marketing the property for you? I look forward to hearing from you. Bon weekend, Peter.
We live in Normandy – have done for almost 10 years… couldn’t be pulled away!
We are on The Cherbourg Peninsula just 8 kms from Ste Mere Eglise – Bayeux just 35 minutes away, Caen an hour, Paris 3. It is possible to get to London in time for lunch from here via Euro Star… expensive, but I like the feeling it gives!
In the summer the fast boats go across to Portsmouth in under 3 hours – we live 30 minutes from Cherbourg (free parking if you want to go foot passenger) then in the winter if the sea is rough we can resort to Le Shuttle as it’s 4 hours from Calais half an hour on the train – et viola en Angleterre! But normally we take a night boat – it’s easy…
Weather isn’t bad either up here! France Meteo and the BBC seem to either have a big fat cloud over us or temperature as at least 6℃ lower than it is!! So be aware the BBC are reporting Jersey not the mainland! When there are heatwaves we stay an ambient 28℃ – max 32℃ never too hot – or not for long, especially here, as it is almost like being on an island with sea breezes.
Anyway enough of my burbling, hope the sale goes through and you do indeed make it up to our part of glorious France!
Hi thanks for the contact… We have visited Normandy on a number of occasions and like you, feel it is so simple to return to Hampshire UK, where our children and grandchildren live, and we love the friendliness of the people and the black and white cows!
Thanks for your good wishes too… Diana
